Privacy policy

At Mi Botiquín we take your privacy seriously. The app is designed so that your health data stays, whenever possible, on your own device. This policy explains what information is processed and how.

1. Data controller

Mi Botiquín is developed by Alejandro López. For any privacy enquiry you can write to hola@mibotiquin.app.

2. Data stored on your device

Your medicines, schedules, doses, intake logs, tags and notes are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to our servers and we cannot see them. If you delete the app, this data is removed from your device.

3. Camera

The app requests camera access solely to scan the barcodes on medicine boxes. The code is read and processed on your own device; no image is captured, stored or sent to any server.

4. Boti assistant (artificial intelligence)

When you use the Boti assistant, the text of your question (and the context needed to answer it) is sent encrypted, through our server, to Google's AI model (Gemini), which generates the answer. This query is not linked to your identity. Do not enter personal data you don't want to share. See Google's privacy policy.

5. Usage analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened) and to improve it. We only collect usage events in aggregate and actively strip out personal information: we do not collect your name, email, phone, national ID, or similar identifiers.

6. Medicine, price and supply information

To show each medicine's information (active ingredient, leaflet, prices, alternatives and supply problems), the app queries official sources such as CIMA and the AEMPS, as well as our database, using the medicine's identifier. These queries do not include any personal data about you. The report for your doctor is generated on your own device.

7. In-app purchases

Subscriptions are handled through Apple (App Store). We do not receive or store your payment details; Apple manages them under its own policy.

8. We don't sell your data

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. You don't need to create an account to use Mi Botiquín.

9. Your rights

You can access and delete your data at any time from within the app, and remove it entirely by uninstalling it. If the law in your country grants you additional rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection), write to us at hola@mibotiquin.app.

10. Minors

Mi Botiquín is not directed at children under 16 (the age of medical consent in Spain).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or in regulations. We will always publish the current version on this page with its update date.
